The Life Span of Trauma
The Regions Hospital is a Miracle Center for the traumatized and maimed citizens of the upper mid west, serving as Minnesota’s busiest Level I Pediatric and Adult trauma center. The Orthopaedic Trauma Team, under the direction of Dr. Peter A. Cole, takes great pride in its comprehensive approach to trauma, a fact which is underscored by its Lifespan of Trauma bookend trauma summits. These regional scale meetings, the Pediatric and Geriatric Orthopaedic Trauma Summits, have drawn multidisciplinary healthcare practitioners into a common forum to learn about the comprehensive approach to these respective populations. The focus of the meetings, and their national class faculty, ranges from techniques in fracture fixation, to interdisciplinary management, to social implications of trauma, as well as to the continuum of care from catchment and assessment to rehabilitation and functional outcomes.
